Ovenu Franchising UK has announced the renewal of its master franchise agreement in Australia with franchisees Bernard and Janet Bannon. The new agreement is for 15-years with an option to extend for a further 15-year term.
The Ex-pat couple, who established Ovenu in Australia in 2005, have since grown the network to over 30 franchisees.
Ovenu said the demand for its oven cleaning service continues to grow in Australia and as a result the network covers most of the country’s main cities, including Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
The Bannon’s said they saw the business potential of Ovenu after calling in a franchisee to clean the oven of the restaurant that they were running in the Channel Islands. Later deciding to emigrate, the couple exported the Ovenu concept to Australia.
Ovenu explained that the deal concludes an eight-month period of structured negotiations between both parties, with the Master Franchise Agreement being accompanied by an updated Disclosure Document, which is mandatory by the Australian authorities.
Founder’s comments
Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of Ovenu, said: “I’m delighted that Bernard and Janet have opted to continue their journey with us into the foreseeable future. They have been extremely successful in establishing and building the Ovenu network in Australia and I’m convinced they will continue to grow the brand.
“Current legislation in Australia meant everything took a little longer than anticipated but it was very important to ensure every aspect of the renewal was completed correctly.”
Bernard Bannon added: “We have plans to bring other experienced family members into managerial roles to help us take the business to the next level. We are delighted to have concluded the agreement with Rik and look forward to enjoying even greater success over the next 15 years.”
