Häagen-Dazs shops set to make a UK comeback in 2024 via franchise model
Häagen-Dazs, which describes its brand as ‘the ice creams of ice creams’, has announced that it is relaunching franchised ice cream shops in the UK, with a focus on Greater London as a first step.
The company recently returned to London since closing its Leicester Square store in 2015, to offer tasty temptations in the capital via a successful pop-up store within John Lewis’ flagship on Oxford Street.
Häagen-Dazs is now ready to expand its franchise model and is looking to contract with multi-unit franchises who share a common passion for high quality products and excellent consumer service.
As a franchisor Häagen-Dazs says its passionate about three things: continuing to empower its reputation of excellence, providing its customers with the highest quality ice cream in the world, and providing its franchisees with exceptional support and successful opportunities.
Häagen-Dazs shops offer a selection of 24 premium flavours, seasonal specialties and limited editions, in addition to signature creations, drinks, pastries and cakes, all to cater to different moments of the day and seasons throughout the year.
The franchisor adds that it wishes to identify franchise partners to open at least 25 stores across the UK over the next five years, fitting the profile below:
A passion for the Häagen-Dazs brand.
Operational and management experience in the retail and/or restaurant sectors.
Relevant real estate acquisition experience.
The organisational, operational and financial capability to build and run multiple stores.
Commitment to developing multiple stores in a defined area.
Häagen-Dazs has been making ice cream since 1960 and franchised in 1976. The company explains that its ice cream starts with 100 per cent real cream and milk, which is blended with carefully selected ingredients.
Launched with three simple flavours – chocolate, vanilla, and coffee, today it is sold in major supermarkets, convenience stores, foodservice channels and through a network of 850 shops in over 40 countries.
