Funk, an Australian coffee and food café franchise, is seeking a UK master franchisee as the brand takes its first steps to international expansion.
The franchisor says its Funk cafés are strategically placed in areas of high footfall and this opportunity offers a master franchisee or investor high cash flow and good profit margins. The brand was established 20 years ago and has a network of 16 franchisees in its home territory.
Funk specialises in exceptional coffees, with the finest ethically sourced Arabica coffee beans ground and roasted to make its exclusive blend. Everything in its outlets is freshly prepared from cold meat cuts to freshly baked breads and rolls every morning and it insists on using local suppliers in the community.
The company explains that it will support the master franchisee in finding the right outlet in the right location where footfall is likely to produce the highest returns whether on the high street, shopping mall or office complex. Its food development department will also work closely with the franchisee and local chefs to adapt the menus to cater for local tastes.
Every café has a funky vibe with functional, modern and inviting décor adding that its high level of customer service sets it apart from others.
‘Key overseas territory’
Arthur Damaskos, managing director of Funk, said: “We are very excited at the prospect of launching in the UK as our first key overseas territory. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is hands on and will develop the brand throughout the UK. Experience in the retail or food and beverage would be preferred but is not essential.
“The franchise offers a real opportunity for an experienced investor to establish an innovative coffee shop brand in the UK. The sector continues to experience strong market growth and is proving resilient in the current economic climate. With excellent gross and net margins, the business will provide strong rates of return on investment.”
He added: “We have engaged the services of Charlie Dickson of Ashtons Franchise Consulting and he has been working closely with Funk’s directors to prepare the business for its UK debut.”
Funk will be exhibiting at the National Franchise Exhibition (6-7 October, NEC, Birmingham) and interested parties will be welcome at its stand in the International Pavilion for an informal discussion.
