Acropolis Street Food, an award-winning Greek street food operator based in the North East of England, is proving it has the recipe for success as it consolidates its franchising plans with help from Mincoffs Solicitors.
Having gone from strength to strength since launching in 2016, Acropolis has opened six physical outlets and made regular appearances at food festivals and events across the North East of England.
Acropolis based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is run by brothers Filip and Viktor Tachan, and Yusuf Yenil, who have all taken legal advice from Mincoffs franchising team to prepare two separate franchise agreements – one for franchisees based at permanent premises and the other for those planning to operate a mobile business.
Along with the franchising department, Acropolis worked with Mincoffs corporate solicitors to reinforce its company structure, in addition to receiving operational and support advice from Ken Rostron, partner at The Franchise Company, a Darlington-based consultancy firm.
Yenil said: “Acropolis was born through our passion to bring authentic Greek street food to the North East and we have been blown away by the huge wave of support we have received from day one.
“It has been a fantastic experience getting to bring traditional Greek flavours and cooking methods to the region and our next step is to expand, so it was really important we made sure we found the right legal advice and support to help us reach the next stage.
“Mincoffs Solicitors has been a huge help every step of the way and it’s been brilliant being able to draw on the advice from both the franchising and corporate teams all under one roof.”
Acropolis said its brand is best known for its gyros – meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served in a Greek pita bread – that is served at its regular sites and stalls across the region including Hebburn Market, STACK Seaburn and Newcastle’s Grainger Market, in addition to a new venue in Scotland, Resident X.
‘A pleasure to assist Acropolis’
Antony Hall, partner and head of franchising at Mincoffs Solicitors and professional affiliate member of the BFA, said he was delighted to assist the business: “Acropolis has become a staple of the North East food scene and has an excellent reputation, so expanding into further locations seemed like the next logical step for the business.
“Our team created franchising agreements which were tailored to the company’s needs, to ensure that the fantastic food and service the business is known for remains consistent whether it’s at a physical site or a mobile location.
“It has been a pleasure to support Acropolis with their growth plans and we look forward to working closely with them as they further expand the business down the line.”
Mincoffs Solicitors adds that it has provided expert legal services and advice across the North East and beyond for 75 years. The firm’s services include corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, employment law, licensing and gaming, residential conveyancing, family law, wills, probate and trusts.
