Mobalpa, the French kitchen manufacturer and retailer, with 280 stores in France is now offering franchises in Britain after running a pilot unit at Warrington, Lancashire, for the past year.
The company plans to open six stores in the UK over the next two years and the Warrington unit is targeted to reach sales of £1.1m this year and £1.3m next year. The store has achieved a 50 per cent conversion-to-sale rate in the past year.
Mobalpa can trace its origins back to a cabinet-making workshop opened in 1907 at Thones in the French Alps. It now has three plants in France with more than 1,000 employees.
Cyril Raberin, the franchise director, said that a second UK store would open in Richmond, North Yorkshire in May and that negotiations were taking place for two further UK units.
“Our franchise package is unique and we are keen to get people who are the right fit for us,” he said. “We have a clear ethos which allows us to provide dedicated support and training to franchisees to ensure they are profitable whilst enjoying what they do and continue to grow.”
Raberin will be supported in helping franchisees by a business developer and regional sales manager.
