Home Instead Senior Care, which provides home care for the elderly in their own homes, won Gold in the BFA/HSBC Franchisor of the Year awards at the Honourable Artillery Company venue, London.
With Britain’s ageing population, the problems with the NHS, and cuts in welfare and social services, Home Instead is one of the few franchises with a developing market in this prolonged period of austerity.
Home Instead has increased its turnover by more than 40 per cent for the sixth successive year and the franchisor, Trevor Brocklebank has been chosen as one of the top most influence people in the care sector.
The Silver award went to Water Babies, which provides swimming lessons for babies, and the Bronze to Agency Express, which offers a for-sale board installation service for estate agents.
The HSBC Franchisee Support award was won by Barking Mad, whose franchisees provide holidays, with host families, for dogs as a more personal alternative to kennels, and the Express Newspapers Brand Builder award went to Revive, which repairs motorists’ scuffs and scratches.
