The British Franchise Association (BFA) has announced the finalists in the BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards 2024. The awards are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1989.
The annual awards celebrating the achievements of BFA member franchisors and franchisees are sponsored by HSBC UK. The winning entrants will be revealed at an awards ceremony on 7th November 2024 at Telford International Centre, Shropshire, following the association’s annual conference.
Gillian Morris, UK head of franchise, commercial banking at HSBC UK said: “Franchising makes a major contribution to the UK economy and it’s only right that we recognise the hard work, commitment and drive of the people making their mark throughout the franchise sector. That’s why we’re so proud to be sponsoring the British Franchise Awards again for the 35th year. Personally, it’s a real honour to play my part in judging the awards and selecting the finalists and winners from so many brilliant entries.”
The BFA reports that the 2024 awards have attracted an 11 per cent increase in brands entering the awards compared to 2023, resulting in a 27 per cent increase in entries overall. The finalists for 2024 are…

Pip Wilkins, chief executive of the BFA, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 35th year of the BFA awards and as always, another exceptionally difficult round of short listing for Gillian and I. We never cease to be amazed by your ingenuity and tenacity, your ability to adapt to changing marketplaces and to be able to amend your business model to ensure you are always offering the best opportunity to your franchisees and customers.
“No great franchise ever succeeded by standing still; it is crucial you keep evolving and the entries this year shouted that loud and clear. Congratulations to each and every one of you who have made the finals; this is in itself a huge achievement and one you should be extremely proud of. The team and I look forward to seeing you in November.”
Morris adds: “My heartfelt congratulations to the deserving finalists in this year’s British Franchise Awards. Shortlisting the entries and choosing the finalists is one of the toughest challenges of my year but it’s one I love. I was truly inspired by the brilliant businesses amongst this year’s entrants and the finalists really do represent the best of British franchising.”
