Due to the forthcoming retirement of the current director general, Brian Smart, the BFA are seeking his successor.
The association, based in Oxfordshire, has appointed an executive recruitment specialist to help fill the position, which offers an attractive and competitive package.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Management and leadership of the association, working closely with the non-executive board on strategic direction.
- Leading a team of experienced staff, ensuring the association meets its financial and operational targets.
- Leading external relations with government, regulators, media and the public to promote accredited ethical franchising.
The successful candidate will be:
A well-rounded leader and director who is commercially aware, diplomatic and flexible; a skilled communicator who fully appreciates accreditation/quality assurance and is at home in a complex multi-stakeholder trade association environment.
