The agreement is for 20 years and a single franchise fee of $40,000 is payable. Additionally the franchisee pays 5 per cent of sales in the form of a royalty contribution, and an additional 5 per cent of sales as a contribution to the national marketing fund.
A franchisee can invest between £250,000 and £600,000 and will need to contribute at least 40 per cent of the capital from its own funds with the rest being funded by business loans. Therefore in an average shopping centre food court kiosk investment of circa £250,000, a franchisee must contribute a minimum of £130,000 as equity in the form of liquid or quickly realisable assets.
