Jaldi Jaldi franchise raises the quality of Indian take aways The quality of Indian food take-aways has reached new heights with the launch of the Jaldi Jaldi franchise by Mumtaz, a highly successful Asian food manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. The first store has opened at the Forster Square Retail Centre, Bradford, The target is to open 250 in Yorkshire and Lancashire, and 2,000 across the country in five years. The first three franchisees have all signed multi-unit agreements. Jarnail Sihra, the franchisee for the Leeds area, has opened the first of his five in the University of Leeds. Across the Pennines, the franchisee for the Preston area is opening five units, and the franchisee for Manchester, 10 units. Mumtaz Food Industries was set up in 1978 by Mumtaz Khan and has grown from a small take-away in Bradford to a multi-million pound international business. Its £3m food products plant at Mytholmroyd, Halifax, supplies customers in 20 countries, including in the UK, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco and Boots. Bill Kimberling, commercial director, says that Jaldi Jaldi (literally Quickly Quickly) will revolutionise the way people see and enjoy take-away Indian meals. “They're perfect for those who want a fast, good quality meal at an affordable price,” he says.
